Our Clients Say
“When dealing with a portfolio of properties, some are in more need of TLC than others and the unexpected challenge occurs, this the BECM Team took in their stride providing timely quotes and accommodating the change within the programme schedule as seamlessly as possible.
Their kitchen and bathroom design and fit out was so good I used them within my own home. They have undertaken a variety of works bringing a large 1930’s property up to date with new paved driveway, French drainage to the rear garden, oak flooring throughout the ground floor, doors, built in furniture, jacuzzi, shower and bathrooms and decorations internally and externally. The piece de resistance being my beloved solid pear kitchen cabinets and doors with black granite work tops.
If one word sums up working with this totally professional team it would be INTEGRITY !
They are honest and fair to deal with and I know I can rely on their judgement.”
On completion of the Heathrow/ British Airways Terminal 5 Electric Vehicle Charging Project, the Client gave this report:
“All 6 key customer objectives were achieved – I think we smashed it:
* Zero First Alerts and LTI’s
* Zero service strikes
* Project to stay to programme
* 10% maximum variance in monthly forecasting
* All stakeholders engaged at all times
* All G5 handover documents completed in a timely manner
All the key objectives are important – it is a way of life for us to work with these objectives in mind.
All the above worked well. Sometimes the commercial aspect can be challenging but I cannot recall having a difficult conversation over the spending. If there is a tranche 3, it would be great to maintain the same team.
The team was able to make suggestions to save time, money and improve quality. Bernie Cockton has been sterling throughout the duration of the project. Regular attendance at meetings to identify any risks and to help develop overall improvements.
The approach by the team to health and safety was excellent. There was only one thing, on one occasion when visiting the welfare facility, I noticed a few bolts just lying on the concrete. It’s hard to know who left them there because a number of different companies work in the vicinity – I contacted the team and it was addressed straight away.I wasn’t contacted by any of my colleagues with any negative feedback, that’s always a good sign. There were a lot of people working in the same area; baggage trolleys, airline trucks, catering trucks etc. Even with this number of third parties, we still had no Lost Time Incidents or First Alerts.
With regards to quality – good or poor workmanship, Bernie’s experience stood out, he was on his game 24 / 7.
Progress reporting was excellent. Every time, Bernie would call me or come and see me at my desk. We work in a remarkably busy environment with a huge amount of changes. I never had to chase Bernie for any updates. Regular communication is key. I hope Bernie’s view of how he was treated by the client is equally gushing.
The approach demonstrated to managing change on this project including programme and costs was brilliant! There was substantial change because of the redesign in the pits and Levertech Aviation Services Ltd, the electrical sub-contractor have been excellent. There have been increased costs which are expected with this amount of change, but we did end up with very happy stakeholders.
Information flow was managed and co-ordinated very well supplemented by weekly phone call meetings with the stakeholders. If necessary Bernie would take the notes on my behalf which were distributed instantly by email. While it was a more informal approach, it related all the information to the circa 25 people involved on a weekly basis.
I believe we achieved excellent value for money, we are handing money back to the programme and there were no squabbles
If another tranche came up, I would be vocally supportive of keeping the exact same team together due to the professionalism, support and things that we’ve learnt from tranche 1 & 2.
The technology at the moment is ongoing to push back long haul planes. We would also need to look at space around the other terminals. “
